Telnet(TCP/IP)
The Telnet port by default is disabled. To turn on Telnet
control,settheTelnetportnumber(typicallyPort23)
andchecktheTCP/IPportenablecheckbox.Apassword
for the Telnet session can be enabled by entering a
passwordinthePasswordforTCP/IPconnectiontext
box. If a password is not desired on the Telnet session,
leave the text box blank.
To access the telnet client, open a command prompt on
your computer and enter: telnet <ipaddress>
OnceconnectedtotheDVP,aconnectmessagewillbe
displayed.

RS-232
OnthebackoftheDVPtherearetwoserialcontrol
portsconguredasaDTEthatsupportstheRS-232
protocol. A Null-Modem cable should be used between
theDVPandtheCOMportonyourPC.
TerminalsessionsettingsrequiredforRS-232control
are:9600,8,None,1withNoFlowControl.
There is no password protection on this interface
and,bydefaulttheRS-232portisenabled.The
administrator has the ability to disable the port by un-
checking the COM port enable checkbox.
SMTP Mail
TheDVPhastheabilitytosendemailmessagestoa
remote SMTP server. Enter the address of the SMTP
server in the appropriate text box (use the IP address
ifDNSsettingsarenotset).TheEmaileldwillsetthe
default“From”eldtotheenteredemail.Leavethis
eldblanktoallowtheusertoentertheirown“From”
emailaddress.ConrmanychangestotheSMTPmail
congurationbyclickingSaveSMTPsettingsbutton.
Notications
TheDVPcanbeconguredbytheAdministratortosend
emaileventnoticationsfromtheNoticationssection
of the main menu.
• First, navigate to the SMTP Mail menu page to enable
SMTPmailandllinthemailserverandmailauthor
information(ifnotalreadyset)thenconrmthese
settings with the Save SMTP settings button.
•Next,navigatetotheNoticationmenupageand
entertheemailaddresstowhichthenoticationswill
besentandselecttheeventstotrack.Conrmthese
settingswiththeSaveNoticationSettingsbutton.
Logging
TheDVPcanbeconguredbytheAdministratortolog
eventsfromtheLoggingsectionofthemainmenu.
Selecttheeventsyouwishtosavetoalogandconrm
thesesettingswiththeSaveLoggingOptionsbutton.
